Our Vision
The Poetry Shop rose out of a desire to have a store solely devoted to the appreciation and practice of poetry. Our goal: to curate collections that move people to read more poetry. We want to help you find your next favorite book.
The Poetry Shop is a mom-and-pop business founded by San Diego based couple David Panarelli and Katie Kemple. David, a design and product consultant, handles the management and logistics of the site; while Katie, a poet and public relations consultant, focuses on curation and literary partnerships.
Our Approach
Brick-and-mortar stores, online retailers, and even public libraries at best carry a slim collection of poetry. That's why we founded The Poetry Shop, a place for readers to discover new work and for poets to find new audiences. We want to make it easy to select your next poetry book with thoughtful, seasonal, and inspired curation of new collections of work.
