A Cuban-Italian American poet and educator, Isabella DeSendi lives in Hoboken, New Jersey, and holds an MFA from Columbia University. Her chapbook Through the New Body won the Poetry Society of America's Chapbook Fellowship and was published in 2020. Her debut full-length collection, Someone Else's Hunger (Four Way Books, 2025), was named one of the best debut poetry collections of 2025. She was included in the 2024 Best New Poets anthology and was a finalist for the Ruth Lilly and Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg Poetry Fellowship. Her poems have appeared in Poetry, The Adroit Journal, and Poetry Northwest.
