A Korean American poet, new media artist, and scholar, Margaret Rhee received her BA in English from the University of Southern California and her PhD in ethnic studies, with a designated emphasis in new media studies, from the University of California, Berkeley. Her debut collection, Love, Robot (The Operating System, 2017), received the 2018 Elgin Award from the Science Fiction and Fantasy Poetry Association and a 2019 Best Book Award from the Association for Asian American Studies. Her new media project The Kimchi Poetry Machine is included in the Electronic Literature Collection, Volume 3. She teaches in media studies and the creative writing MFA program at The New School.
