Winner of the 2022 Noemi Book Prize for Girl Work (Noemi Press, 2024), Zefyr Lisowski is a trans and queer poet raised in the Great Dismal Swamp region of North Carolina who lives in Brooklyn, New York. Her debut poetry collection, Blood Box (Black Lawrence Press, 2019), won the Black River Editor's Choice Award. Her essay collection, Uncanny Valley Girls (Harper Perennial, 2025), was a finalist for the 2026 Lambda Literary Award for Transgender Nonfiction. She served as a poetry co-editor for Apogee Journal. She is a 2023 NYFA/NYSCA Fellow in Nonfiction and a 2023 Queer|Art Fellow.
