About Rosmarie Waldrop

A German-American poet and translator born in Kitzingen, Germany, Rosmarie Waldrop co-founded Burning Deck Press with her husband, Keith Waldrop, running it from 1961 to 2017. Her collections include Curves to the Apple (New Directions, 2006) and Gap Gardening: Selected Poems (New Directions, 2016), which won the Los Angeles Times Book Prize for Poetry. She has translated Edmond Jabès, Paul Celan, and other European writers, receiving the Harold Morton Landon Translation Award and the PEN Award for Poetry in Translation, along with a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship. She was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
