About Zhanghui Yang

Zhanghui Yang studies the meeting of classical Chinese landscape traditions and American modernism, and took his doctorate at the University of Macau in 2021. Routledge published Convergence of East-West Poetics: Williams's Negotiation with the Chinese Landscape Tradition in 2025, in the Routledge Studies in Comparative Literature series. The book reads William Carlos Williams against the Chinese landscape poetry and painting he encountered in translation, tracing what survives the passage between the two traditions. He is a comparative scholar rather than a poet.
