About Joseph Bruchac

Joseph Bruchac is a writer, musician and traditional storyteller. He founded the Greenfield Review Press and the Greenfield Review Literary Center at Greenfield Center, New York, where he was raised by his maternal grandparents, and he directs the Ndakinna Education Center with his sons. His first book of poems, Indian Mountain and other poems, came from Ithaca House in 1971, followed by Great Meadow: Words of Hearsay & Heresy from his own press in 1973; Ndakinna (Our Land): New and Selected Poems gathers later work, and Voices of the People appeared from Reycraft Books in 2022. He served as poet laureate of Saratoga Springs, New York.
