About Helen Frost

Helen Frost taught elementary school in Massachusetts, Vermont, Scotland and Alaska. Three years of that were in a one-teacher school at Telida, an Athabascan community. The fifth of ten children, born in Brookings, South Dakota, she settled in Fort Wayne, Indiana, in 1991. She studied elementary education at Syracuse University and earned a master's in English at Indiana University in 1994. Her novels in poems include Keesha's House, a 2004 Michael L. Printz Honor Book, Diamond Willow, Hidden and Room 214; with the photographer Rick Lieder she has made a series of picture books, among them The Mighty Pollinators.
