Pandemic Pondering: A Poetry Collection, written in April 2020 speaks from the heart, in real time, as Covid spread exponentially across the country and around the world. Each poem offers an up close and personal perspective into how the pandemic effected one woman and her family with themes that will resonate with readers as they think back on those uncertain and frightening times. Thoughts and feelings expressed within the poetry may help others process how Covid impacted them and provide inspiration to document their own experiences for future generations.

The COVID-19 Pandemic began in Connecticut in March 2020. On March 12, Greenwich Public Schools closed. On March 20, CT Governor Ned Lamont started, "Stay Home, Stay Safe" directing all non-essential businesses to close on March 23. My husband and I sheltered in place. Our son stayed in his apartment nearby. Our daughter, son-in-law, and granddaughters (ages 2.9 and 2 months) were locked down in their home in Westport.

Writer's Digest Magazine sponsors a Poem-A-Day Challenge every April, in celebration of National Poetry Month. Every morning a prompt is posted on their website, and writers are invited to use any form to create a poem based on that prompt; posting it on Poetic Asides is optional. In 2020, I wrote all the poems about COVID.
