About Faith Shearin

The author of seven poetry collections, Faith Shearin won the May Swenson Poetry Award for The Owl Question (Utah State University Press, 2004). She grew up in Kitty Hawk, on North Carolina's Outer Banks, and lives in West Virginia. Her other books include The Empty House (Word Press, 2008), Moving the Piano (Stephen F. Austin State University Press, 2011), Telling the Bees (Stephen F. Austin State University Press, 2015), and Lost Language (Press 53). Her poems have been read by Garrison Keillor on The Writer's Almanac. She has received a fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts and awards from Yaddo and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown.
