About Geoffrey Babbitt

Raised in Boise, Idaho, Geoffrey Babbitt studied at Connecticut College and earned an MFA and PhD at the University of Utah. His first book, Appendices Pulled from a Study on Light (Spuyten Duyvil, 2018), moves between poetry and prose. A second collection, A Grain of Sand in Lambeth, won Interim's Betsy Joiner Flanagan Prize in Poetry and is published by the University of Nevada Press. Babbitt is an associate professor at Hobart and William Smith Colleges, where he serves as editor-in-chief of Seneca Review and Seneca Review Books, which he cofounded in 2017 with David Weiss. His poems and essays have appeared in North American Review, Colorado Review, DIAGRAM, and Cincinnati Review.
