Every Who down in Who-ville liked Christmas a lot...but the Grinch, who lived just north of Who-ville, did NOT!

Not since "'Twas the night before Christmas" has the beginning of a Christmas tale been so instantly recognizable. From the Grinch and his dog, Max, to Cindy-Lou and all the residents of Who-ville, this heartwarming story about the effects of the Christmas spirit will warm even the coldest and smallest of hearts. Like mistletoe, candy canes, and caroling, the Grinch is a mainstay of the holidays, beloved by readers young and old.

How the Grinch Stole Christmas! was first published in 1957 using just two different colored inks, red and black. This edition adds full color to Dr. Seuss's unforgettable illustrations while still retaining the classic look of the original.

About the poet: Dr Seuss

Dr. Seuss (1904–1991), born Theodor Seuss Geisel in Springfield, Massachusetts, was an American children's author, illustrator, and poet who transformed children's literature. After studying at Dartmouth College and Lincoln College, Oxford, he began his career as a cartoonist and advertising illustrator before publishing his first children's book, And to Think That I Saw It on Mulberry Street, in 1937. His inventive rhyme, invented creatures, and subversive humor are defining features of books including The Cat in the Hat (1957), How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (1957), and Green Eggs and Ham (1960). He received two Academy Awards, a Peabody Award, and a Pulitzer Prize Special Citation in 1984.
