About Anna Bowles

A British editor and humanitarian volunteer who divides her time between London and Ukraine, Anna Bowles began writing poetry days after Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. Her debut pamphlet, Landscape with Mines, was published by Mica Press in 2024. Born in Cheltenham and educated at Oxford, she worked as a children's book editor before turning to freelance work and documenting grassroots resistance to the invasion. Her poems have appeared in journals including Magma, Orbis, and Poetry Salzburg, and have placed in several UK competitions.
